Terms
Last updated November 6, 2026
These terms cover the Dataflow website and the free weekday email. By subscribing or reading, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not subscribe.
What Dataflow is
Dataflow is a free weekday news letter on business and technology: companies, products, workplaces, and the public decisions around them. Subscribing does not open an account and does not hire the publisher to advise you.
Not advice
Nothing in the brief or on this site is professional advice, financial or otherwise. The letter reports what happened. It does not tell you what to do. Names, dates, and figures can be wrong, revised, or late. Check the primary source before you rely on anything you read.
The letter
The brief is sent on weekday mornings. It covers what changed in business and technology. Delivery times are a target, not a guarantee, and the letter does not promise a local clock in every city. A holiday does not by itself cancel the letter. Mail can be late, filtered, or lost. Commercial messages, if any are ever included, will be labeled and will not be presented as the editorial lead.
Your address
The form on this site confirms a submission in the browser. It does not transmit or store the email address. The privacy policy describes what the host may still log.
Acceptable use
Do not scrape the site in order to build a competing mailing list, resell the letter, or misrepresent it as your own research. Quoting a short passage with credit, for ordinary commentary, is fine.
Intellectual property
The name Dataflow, the site, and the text of the brief belong to the publisher. Primary documents the letter cites belong to their authors.
Disclaimers and liability
The site and the brief are provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, the publisher disclaims warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent the law allows, the publisher is not liable for lost profits or any indirect or consequential damages arising from the site or the letter. Some states do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where the publisher has its principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a provision cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
Changes
The date at the top will change when these terms change. Continuing to subscribe after an updated date means you accept the revised terms. If you do not, unsubscribe.
